A Spotlight On The Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham

As the name suggests, the Jewellery Quarter is the centre of Birmingham’s jewellery trade, with over 500 jewellers based here – but there’s heaps more to this part of the city than just the bling (although we’d settle for a diamond or two). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Jewellery Quarter is made up of over 200 listed buildings, many of which were old factories and workshops. The unique history of the place, and the fact that there’s a great independent pub scene makes this a popular location for young professionals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The centre of town is a mere stroll away, and the Jewellery Quarter is also impeccably served by both local and national rail services, from Snow Hill Station. There are also train links to London Marylebone in under 2 hours. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Jewellery Quarter is also home to St Paul's Square, a beautiful Georgian square boasting a large central lawn which plays host to summer picnics, and framed by tree-lined streets filled with wine bars and artisan cafes - delicious!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Despite the popularity of the area with artists and young workers, and despite the numerous residential regeneration projects, the average 2-bedroom apartment is still below the average for the city at £180,000. It sounds like a steal to us – and no, we’re not talking about the jewellery.
